How we write, what we refuse to write, and who checks what we publish.
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Why this page exists
We write about marriage, engagement and safety while also being a marriage platform that sells plans. That is a real conflict of interest and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can do is write down our rules, keep to them, and let you hold us to them.
1. No figure without a source
We publish no percentage, statistic or member count without a source you can check. When we have no figure, we say so and reason about mechanics instead. That is why our articles contain almost no numbers: not an omission, a commitment.
2. No invented success stories
We write no testimonials, no marriage stories and no member photographs for people who do not exist. When a testimonial appears on this site it will be with its author's permission, limited to what they agreed to publish, and dated.
3. No religious rulings
We write about matters of fiqh descriptively: we set out what is agreed, name the points of disagreement and attribute them, and do not pick a side. Every article of that kind opens with an explicit notice and ends by referring the reader to scholars in their own country. Anyone wanting a ruling should ask a scholar, not a marriage website.
4. No legal or medical advice
Registration, residence and medical screening rules differ by country and change. We point out that they exist and refer you to the competent authority; we do not dictate steps we cannot stand behind.
5. On competitors: their words, not ours
On comparison pages we quote the sentence each platform uses to describe itself, verbatim, with the date we read it and a link to the source. We do not publish their prices, because prices change and differ by country, and we do not build feature tables for them, because we cannot verify them. Anything we add is stated as our own reading.
6. Disclosure of interest
Wherever we appear in our own comparison or guide, we say plainly that we are an interested party. We take no commission from any other platform and we rank nobody for payment.
7. We do not publish what harms the reader
We refuse subjects that draw traffic at the reader's expense: lists of phone numbers, guides to "meeting without registering", and anything that pushes people out of an environment where they can be protected. Where demand for such a subject is high, we write about it to show the danger, not to make it easier.
8. Who writes and who checks
Content is written by the Mizan editorial team and read by someone other than its author before publication. Articles touching religious or legal matters get a second read specifically to confirm that they describe rather than rule.
9. Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct the text and show the update date on the article. We do not delete an article to hide a mistake. If you find an error, write to contact@mizan-mariage.com.
10. Language
We write in Modern Standard Arabic rather than any single dialect, because our readers are spread across many countries, and we avoid literal translation from English. The English text is not a translation of the Arabic: it is the same promise written the way an English reader expects it.
