The method
We do not improve your odds. We rule out what could never have worked.
A dating app shows you as many people as possible and leaves the sorting to you. We do the opposite: what you have declared essential rules out first, and the same applies to the other person. Only then do we introduce anyone.
Is Mizan a matchmaking agency or a dating app?
Mizan is an online matchmaking agency, not a dating app. The difference fits in one sentence: you do not search, the agency searches for you. There is no list of files to browse, no messaging between members, and the photographs you submit are never published — they stay visible to you and to the agency. You declare four criteria upfront: timeframe, where you live, children, household. What you declared essential rules out first, in both directions, and the agency introduces no one without the consent of both people. A score then names the criteria on which the two files match, and those on which they do not. The price is 150 € when your file opens, and 250 € only if the process succeeds. Everything happens remotely, in French, English and Arabic, for Europe, the Maghreb, the Middle East, the Gulf and North America.
Traditional agency, dating app, Mizan: three models side by side
The question comes up often enough to deserve a written answer rather than a slogan. Here are the three models, without flattering ours.
| Traditional agency | Dating app | Mizan | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | An adviser, after an interview | You, in an endless feed | Someone at the agency, working from your file |
| What you are judged on | A portrait written by the agency | A photograph | A written intention and four criteria stated up front |
| When you pay | €399 to €1,200 up front among those that publish their rates (surveyed September 2026); most do not display them | Nothing at first, then a subscription to be seen | €150 to open the file, €250 only if it works out |
| What is asked up front | Marriage, clarified during the interview | Nothing: for you to specify, later | Timeframe, where you live, children and household, on the first screen |
| Where your file goes | Into a record the agency consults | Online, visible to other members | To the agency alone. No page, no list, no search engine |
| Who gets in touch | Those the agency introduces | More or less anyone | Nobody, until you say yes — and so does the other person |
Mizan is a digital matchmaking agency. What it keeps from the traditional agency: the intent — nobody comes here to chat — and a frame that rules out before it introduces. What it changes: nobody interviews you, writes your portrait, or introduces one particular person to you. What it refuses from the app: sorting by face.
What are the three stages, and why does the order matter?
Most services rank first and filter afterwards. We do the opposite, because a fine ranking of impossible profiles still wastes the time of two people.
Your mandatory criteria must be met by the other profile — and theirs by yours. Without that symmetry we would show you people who would rule you out anyway, which is worse than showing nothing.
This rule closes contact too, not just display. Elsewhere, a filtered profile can still write to you and the message lands in a secondary folder. A bin is not a door.
Every criterion you marked as preferred earns its weight when it is met. Anything marked as indifferent earns nothing and costs nothing.
The display names the criteria you match on, and those you do not. A bare number cannot be explained or disputed.
Information missing from a profile is not treated as contrary information. An optional field left empty does not eliminate you: it stays empty.
What are the four criteria declared upfront?
They sit at the top of the profile, not at the bottom of a card. They are the ones that break serious plans when discovered too late.
You can read the shape of a profile without creating an account, and check for yourself that these four lines come before the presentation.
What cannot be bought?
You decide the minimum verification level of the people allowed to write to you. That setting is yours: it is not a subscription, it does not unlock, and nobody can pay to bypass it.
At equal score, the level breaks the tie — for everyone, in the same direction.
Verification, as it will work at opening
Four levels are planned. Each opens access to the profiles that require it, and is lost if the commitment is not kept.
No account is verified today: the service opens soon. This page describes what verification will do, not what it already does. The day verified accounts exist, they will exist for real.
No telephone number is requested, at any level, anywhere. No image of an identity document is kept after review.
What does Mizan not do?
A page listing only strengths teaches nothing. Here is what we do not offer, and why.
What happens to your data?
At any time you may obtain a copy of everything we hold about you, and request the deletion of your account. Deletion is effective: it is not a deactivation.
Submitting a file. It is filled in once, and none of it is published: the agency alone reads it. €150 to open the file, €250 only if the introduction leads somewhere.
